Speakers’ Bureau

Our office is proud to offer a Speakers’ Bureau, where our knowledgeable professionals are available to speak in your classroom, at your meeting, or at your event within the Fifth Judicial Circuit (Marion, Lake, Hernando, Sumter, and Citrus Counties). Some of the topics offered include:

 • Criminal Justice / Court Process Education — topics such as constitutional rights (e.g. Bill of Rights), burden of proof, presumption of innocence, role of police vs. prosecutor, courtroom procedures, search & seizure laws, rights of victims, sentencing, state vs. federal law. 

 • Cyber Crime / Internet Safety — identity theft, internet-related crimes, “Sexting and Cyber Harassment” for teens. 

 • Domestic Violence & Family-Related Crimes — domestic violence, elder abuse, exploitation, sex crimes, human trafficking, sex trafficking, exploitation of vulnerable adults. 

 • Drug Crimes & Substance Abuse Prevention — drug trafficking, narcotics issues, drug-abuse prevention. 

 • Elder Abuse & Elder Exploitation / Protection for Vulnerable Adults — elder abuse, elder exploitation, abuse prevention, fraud targeting seniors. 

 • Fraud, Financial Crimes & White-Collar Crimes — insurance fraud, economic crimes, construction fraud, other financial crimes. 

 • Human Trafficking & Labor Trafficking — awareness, prevention, prosecution. 

 • Juvenile Justice & Issues Facing Youth — juvenile law, teen dating violence, bullying, truancy, and related topics. 

 • Public / Community Safety & Prevention Programs — safe communities, safe schools, crime prevention, neighborhood safety, victims’ rights, personal safety. 

 • Victims’ Rights & Support Services — informing about victims’ rights, victim assistance, crime-victim services.

 • Violent Crimes / Serious Crimes / Homicide — homicide law, special-victim crimes, cold-case homicides, or high-profile cases. 

Speaker requests are offered as staffing and schedule availability permit. While we will do our best to meet our community’s requests, we encourage a one-month advance notice when requesting a speaker.
